Easter Candy Giveaway!

Update: we have our winners for the giveaway! The random number generator picked comments from Danielle and Matzoh Fairy. Congratulations, you guys! Your candy will be in the mail soon!

So one of the (many) perks of my job as the candy guide at About.com is that people send me candy for promotional consideration and review. All the time. It’s a hard life, coming home to find a big box of gourmet chocolates or licorice on the stoop. Sigh. Usually I have no problem polishing it off myself–it’s my job, after all! And if I can’t finish it, my husband bravely steps in to help.

However, this most recent box has bested us. I just got a huuuuge box of assorted Easter candy, and we’re up to our eyeballs in sweets at our house already. We just can’t eat it all! This is where you come in. There is some good stuff here–chocolate from Lindt, Toblerone, Mars, and Hershey, and sugar candy like Peeps, jelly beans, Hot Tamales, and licorice. Also some really random candy I’ve never seen before!

Want to win a box of Easter candy? Today’s your lucky day! Leave a comment to this blog entry before midnight on Wednesday, April 1st, Pacific time, and tell me what your favorite Easter candy is. I’ll use the random number generator to pick two winners–yes, two, because there really is a lot of candy. I’ll try and split it up so that the two winners get equal parts chocolate and sugary stuff. And, many apologies, but I’m going to limit it to folks in the US, for shipping reasons. Good luck!

Cadbury mini eggs are the best – I like sucking on them so they get soft from the inside-out. And despite my love for dark chocolate, the dark chocolate mini eggs are horrendous.

What a fabulous giveaway. Easter has to be the best holiday for candy (especially the day after, when it all goes on sale…)! Looks like you’ve got quite the stash. Your job at about.com has some real perks, huh? Hope you and your hubby have had a fun time polishing off some yummy looking candy!

My favorite, hands down, are the classic yellow marshmallow Peeps. When I was little, my mom and I would play Rummy by the hour, devouring these globs of goodness. Good memories!

Cadbury caramel eggs; Reese’s PB Eggs (those were a tradition in our Easter baskets when I was growing up); and egg bubble gum in the little mini egg crate. :)

What a fun give away. Thank you for doing this!

When I read that this is actually something you get PAID to do, I started mumbling profanities under my breath. I called you a slut. I'm sorry. I overreacted – you're not a slut, I'm just ridiculously jealous.

My favorite Easter candy is the popcorn-flavored jelly bellies. I always horde them, or strip mine them, whatever you call it.

Hey – maybe you can answer a question for me. There's a candy in England that is something like Skittles, but the candy itself is made by Cadbury, and it's like a wafer-sized M&M. But the coating is 10x better than an M&M. Do you know what it is? It's like the size of a nickel…

Great give away! I have to admit, I love jelly beans. Could eat them until I pop. And especially the black licorice ones. I’m weird, I know. :)

My favorite candy for Easter is also the Cadbury eggs. I like the caramel ones. You know Liz, I think that the baby would really like all that candy…she maybe even NEEDS it…

Wow, what a great haul. I totally envy your job! I see some great stuff in that pile… I had no idea Yummy Earth made Easter lollipops, those are one of my favorite snacks.

My favorite Easter candy is probably a good, dark chocolate bunny. Simple, I know, but so classic. Thank you so much for sharing with your readers!

It would have to be Cadbury cream eggs, and heavenly hash eggs (from my youth). Or maybe that 1 pound solid milk chocolate easter bunny that lasted until Christmas.

Thanks for the chance to add another 40 pounds to my matronly frame. HeeHee

I can’t resist peanut butter eggs drenched in quality chocolate…not the prepackaged ones (other than Reese eggs of course), but those made fresh in bakeries!
