So a few weeks ago I whined about how I hate making biscotti because I used to have to make it by the truckload. Someone, somewhere, heard my pathetic grumbling and decided to teach me a lesson by having rugelach be this week’s TWD recipe. You see, back in the day when I had to…

I’ve been a little quiet lately because work has been hectic. This past weekend we had a 100-person wedding (tiered cake, groom’s cake cupcakes, and mini cookie wedding favors) and a 300-person dessert catering event, in addition to our usual daily orders. And have I mentioned that we are currently a two-woman operation? Fortunately, we…

Let me start by saying: I really liked the recipe this week! Huzzah! Really, my enjoyment of this week’s recipe comes as such a relief. I was starting to get a complex, because I feel like every week I’m a Bad Attitude Bear. It’s all, “I wanted to like this recipe, buuuut…whine whine whine.” And…

Last week, I told you about my dried apricot experiments and the awesome dessert that resulted–chocolate-covered apricot ice cream balls. What I didn’t tell you was that I was horribly torn between two possible apricot and chocolate recipes, and could NOT decide which one to make. So, like any good sugar addict, I made both….

Picasso had his blue period. Woody Allen had his Scarlett Johansson period. And we Tuesdays with Dorie bakers, we are in the midst of our great Cookie Period. Last week we did Chunkariffic Peanutty Buttery Oatey Chocolatey Cookie-y Chubbers (or whatever they were called) and this week we have Chocolate Malted Whopper Drops. No boring…

I passed on last week’s TWD recipe because I was all alone in the house and couldn’t justify making a big ice cream-ganache cake with only my lonesome to eat it, and my miserly self couldn’t justify using almost a dozen eggs and pounds of chocolate, only to gift the whole thing to friends. There…
