AMAZING APPLE DONUTS

These delicious Apple Donuts are soft, tender, and packed with apple filling! Enjoy them for breakfast or dessert!

Combine warm apple cider, milk, a bit of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast gets frothy.

Mix in the remaining sugar, eggs, yolks, and vanilla. Then add the flour, salt, and spices.

Add softened butter, then knead the dough for 5 minutes. The dough will be sticky!

Cover the dough and let it rise for about an hour, until it has doubled in size.

Roll out the dough and cut it into circles. Let the donuts rise again, for about 45 minutes.

While the donuts are rising, make the filling. Combine all the filling ingredients together in a saucepan, and place over medium heat.

Cook for 10 minutes, then add cornstarch. Continue to cook until the mixture is thick and syrupy.

Heat a pot of oil to 375 F. Cook the donuts, a few at a time, for about 2 minutes a side, until golden brown.

Pipe the apple pie filling in the middle of each donut while it's still warm. Finish them with a roll in cinnamon-sugar.
