Start by chopping up 4 oz dark chocolate. Add water and sugar to a saucepan set over medium heat.
Add cocoa powder and salt, then stir as it heats up.
Bring it to a simmer, then remove it from heat and add vanilla and cubed butter.
Add the chopped chocolate, and whisk until smooth.
This spread is delicious on bread, waffles, and pancakes.
You can even use it as a chocolate dip with cookies, fruit, etc.
