RAINBOWS
BUTTERCREAM
These fun frosting rainbow toppers are surprisingly easy to make, and they look SO fun on top of cakes and cupcakes!
Lay out a piece of plastic wrap and smooth it out.
1
Start piping lines of colored frosting across the plastic wrap--but leave a margin on the edge of the plastic.
2
Keep piping lines of colors next to each other until you've used every color twice.
3
Roll up the plastic wrap into a cylinder, hold the edges, and twist it tightly closed. Snip off one end of the plastic wrap.
4
Fit a piping bag with a large round tip. Place the rainbow frosting into the bag.
5
Dab some buttercream on a flower nail, and press a parchment square on top.
6
Curl your hand around so the piping bag is pointing towards you, and squeeze the bag while you spin the flower nail to create a rainbow shape.
7
ALL of the movement comes from the flower nail -- the piping bag stays in one place. Repeat to make more rainbows!
8
Transfer the rainbows on parchment squares to a baking sheet, and freeze until firm, at least 20-30 minutes.
9
Carefully remove the frozen rainbow from the parchment backing.
10
Put the buttercream rainbows on top of cupcakes...

...or cakes, or anything else you can dream up!
